Pitches

The Pitches

After the results of my and my group’s genre questionnaire, it was clear to us that the general consensus was that we should film a horror sequence; however we were not totally opposed to the idea of a romantic comedy or a thriller sequence. I decided to create three individual unique pitches for each of the genres available to us in order to completely understand the codes and conventions of each of the genres.

Romantic Comedy: A short scene in a park in which a teenage boy proposes to his girlfriend, she says yes but admits she has cheated on him in the past. The boy, upset, leaves her with the ring and walks away, hoping to find the girl of his dreams...

Thriller: A group of teenagers agree to spend the night in a park, however, during the night one of the teenagers wakes up screaming, claiming to be someone else and tells the teenagers that they are all going to die before dawn...

Horror: A teenage boy and his girlfriend take a stroll in a park. However, upon hearing noises they enter woodland only to find the beginnings of a zombie apocolypse. The boy is attacked and killed while the girl runs into the distance...

The Pitch Aftermath

After presenting the pitches to our lecturer Kuldip Judge, we decided as a group that the one particular idea that stood out to us most of all was one of the horror genre featuring a romantic couple who are terrorised by an evil manifestation.
We now have the task of finding a location, and storyboarding our ideas.
